These defaults apply when you begin a new campaign. They replace the game’s standard starting values.
Win by raising Concord political strength to at least three times the Scourge score. You lose if the Scourge reaches three times Concord’s score. Starships are worth five points, starbases two, and outposts one.
The Quadrant display shows the galaxy and its strategic scans. The Tactical display shows the selected quadrant’s sectors. The legend identifies every icon. The command deck controls the active Concord starship, while the Galactic Report and Mission Log explain the current situation.
Assign a captain to each Concord starship, then issue commands to the active ship. Moving to another quadrant or choosing Wait completes its activation. After all Concord ships act, the Scourge moves and resolves its turn, income and repairs are applied, and a new stardate begins.
Stars generate tellurite for the faction that controls their quadrant through a starbase or outpost. Tellurite builds new Concord starships at a Concord starbase. Protect political structures: they produce income and contribute to the score.
Damaged systems disable their related commands until repaired. A destroyed system needs a Concord starbase repair opportunity.
Starship requires a commanding officer.
Set a compass angle and movement distance.
Choose how many torpedoes to fire.
Choose a count, then select a Tactical sector for each probe. Wait for its movement and collision effects to finish before targeting the next probe. Each probe arrives in that sector 20% of the time, or 0.25 sectors away in one of eight directions, 10% each. Probes move 0.25 sectors every 0.5 seconds for up to 15 seconds. Collisions occur at sector centres. Meteor impacts and destroyed ships, bases and outposts leave a severe radiation icon. The final probe ends this activation. Radiation markers clear when the starship leaves or is destroyed. Friendly starships, bases and outposts can be destroyed.
